Darel's Medical Team Continues Their Support:

After spending the night at Darel's home last night, we got an early start today so he could arrive on time for this morning's surgery at Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, California.

It's great to report that things went very well, and the medical team that surrounded Darel today was impressive... as each one contributed to an excellent outcome.

One can imagine that with so many years of dialysis before his two kidney transplants (1969 and 2015)... his left arm was really showing every sign of the many surgeries that have taken place... as well as of the skin cancer surgeries and radiation treatments that so many transplant patients share in common.

We're particularly grateful for Darel's dedicated and experienced cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Tom Mahendra (and his team) for really "listening" as Darel added his own narrative to the information that was detailed on his medical charts for today's surgery.

The result... is that the team understood much more about all Darel has been through... and the marvel of the transplant pioneer who was sharing his own history.

It was a good day... and Darel seemed pleased with the end result as we returned to his home in Inyokern. He'll need to exercise some added caution for the next two weeks... until Dr. Mahendra can review the results at the next appointment in early December.

Thanks for the continued prayers of all who will remember Darel in the days ahead. Our family is thankful for you.
